Quality Price Value I got this winch b/c i was going to a atv park with my son for spring break. We both got stuck many times and time after time the winch pulled out my sons honda recon 250 and my honda rancher 420 with no problem. It paid for it self in one day riding in the mudd. the only thing i didnt like was that the instructions that came in the box werent very well put together they were abit broad. but other than that i dont have a bad word to say about this product

Price Value Quality I have been happy with this winch so far. Buried it in wet mud with no issues, but then I do clean it well every few months which you should do. Thanks.

Worked Great / Broke Fast
-
Value Quality Price I recently purchased a Gorilla XT2500. This winch worked great the first time I used it Pulling a stump out of the ground. Seemed to be the toughest winch I've ever owned (warn customer) I had it in a real dind with that stump and it did overheat and had to wait for to cool before being able to spool the cable back up. Still I has very impressed with the power. I used it 3 more times to pull the ATV out of the mud and had no issues. After about 8 months of mud riding without using the winch it was froze up the next time I tried to use it. Would not do anything. Couldn't free spool it or nothing. Tied it to my truck after I got home and was able to free spool about 10" off by backing up. Tried too spool it back up and stil nothing. The motor just smoked and burned the brushes. Got frustrated and beat the housing off of it with a hammer and ordered a new WARN. Will never go back again.

ATV Electric Winch – Buying Guide
Of all the ATV / UTV accessories available for you to buy, a winch is one of the most important. The power and performance of your electric winch could make the difference between a long hike back over rugged terrain or a quick pull that gets you back on the trail in no time.
If you want to find the best winch for your quad, there are a few things you need to consider first:
1. Power and Performance
What size winch you need depends on the size of your ATV and how you intend to use the winch. The general rule of thumb for figuring out the minimum rated line capacity you need is to multiply the gross weight of your ATV by 1.5. Gross weight includes the weight of the ATV and rider, along with all accessories, tools, and gear. Once you find this number, you have the MINIMUM capacity that you need to pull out your bike.
| How Much Rated Line Pull Do I Need? |
| Gross Vehicle Weight x 1.5 = Minimum Rated Capacity |
The 2500 ATV winch is one of the most popular choices for average size ATVs. Smaller ATVs can get by with a 1500 pound capacity, and heavy duty ATVs may need up to 3000 pounds of pulling power. If you need more power than this, remember that you can always get more power out of your winch by rigging up a double line pull with a few tools from your winch kit.
2. Application
The next question to ask is, how will you be using your winch? For light duty pulling and occasional use, the minimum capacity may provide enough power. But if you're a mud bogger or a sand addict, keep in mind that the sucking forces of mud and sand require a lot more pulling power than firmly packed ground. You'll need more than the minimum rated capacity. For example, winching your ATV across solid, level ground may only require a 1500-lb capacity. But if you're pulling out of a mud hole, you may need a 2000 or 2500-lb winch to get you out. If you ride in muddy or extreme conditions, we recommend choosing the largest capacity winch that will fit on your machine.
For applications such as an ATV or UTV snow plow, we recommend synthetic rope, a shorter rope length, and a durable high-impact ATV winch saver to keep the rope and hook from getting snagged in the fairlead.
3. Dimensions
Mounting space differs for every quad. Some have plenty of mounting space on the front, while others have barely enough room. Check the dimensions of the winch before placing your order to make sure it will fit in the space available. The body style and placement of the electric motor and gears affect how the winch will fit into the mounting space. For example, a 2500-lb winch with a large body style may not be able to fit on a small-bore ATV with compact mounting space.
4. Manufacturer Support
Other factors to consider include warranty terms, technical support and service, and availability of replacement parts. If something goes wrong, you want to know that the company behind the product—whether it's Warn, Superwinch, or ProMark—is able to make things right. All ProMark Offroad brand ATV and UTV winches come with a limited lifetime warranty and are backed with outstanding technical support, repair service, and available replacement parts. We continue to support our customers long after the sale.
5. Winch Accessories ATV / UTV
Even with a high power winch on your machine, you won't be able to accomplish much more than a straight line pull without an accessory kit. Instead of buying all of your tools separately, order a winch kit with the basics: tree strap, shackles, snatch block, and gloves. You could save a ton of money that way.
